The GREEN GOOD DESIGN Award - history and significance
The GREEN GOOD DESIGN Award 2025 embodies a tradition that has its origins in the GOOD DESIGN Award of 1950. Founded in Chicago by personalities such as Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., this first award stood for the promotion of modern, progressive design. Today, in an expanded and forward-looking edition, the GREEN GOOD DESIGN Award focuses on sustainable design solutions.
In a cooperation between the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, an international jury of experts recognizes products that stand out for their outstanding innovation and environmental awareness. The award honors not only design excellence, but also a commitment to reducing energy consumption, waste and emissions - key aspects that are becoming increasingly important in today's design landscape.
The ICONIC HOME collection — visionary and distinctive
ICONIC HOME vases are made in modern production facilities in Germany. Quality is a priority from the choice of materials through every stage of production.
The vases are made in-house in Germany from bio-based PLA. For their production, ICONIC HOME uses 100% renewable electricity: power from its own photovoltaic system and additional purchased renewable electricity.
This combination of in-house production and digital design shapes the collection’s forms and surfaces.
